One of my favorite bars in NY. While the drinks, food and service are all good, the view is exceptional and the primary reason why I rate it 5 stars. I absolutely recommend coming here if you want a truly unique rooftop bar experience. Pro tips: - To get to the main lobby where you'll check-in for Overstory, you'll want to enter the building off Pine Street (the doors will have "Saga" and "Overstory" in white lettering on the front). I found all the doors locked when I tried entering from the Cedar Street side. - Once you get your drinks, you can walk out onto the balcony which wraps around the bar, providing a 360 degree view of the city. - Recommend booking your reservation about an hour before sunset. The view at sunset as well as in the evening (when the whole city is lit up) is amazing.

Great views of the city from this "50 best bars" cocktail bar. Reservation will save you time if you can get one. The cocktails were good. The "El Bandito" being the favorite. Service was good. They are very strict about their $75 per person policy which I haven't encountered at other "50 best bars" bars yet. So not a spot to come to for one cocktail though you can use it on food. I'd also wait to come during the summer to make use of the terrace. You have to be outside to enjoy the view.

Heads up: If you arrive late, there's usually a wait, but the views and atmosphere make it absolutely worth it. Overstory is a gem perched on the 64th floor, offering breathtaking 360° views of the city from its wraparound balcony truly a sight to behold. The interior is just as stunning, with a chic, intimate vibe that perfectly matches the elegance of the landmark building. The cocktails are top notch and come with custom ice cubes engraved with the restaurant's name, adding a touch of flair to an already excellent drink selection. Service is impeccable, making the experience even more memorable.

Overstory has the best rooftop views in NYC! The panoramic skyline views are breathtaking, especially at sunset. The atmosphere is chic and upscale, making it the perfect spot for a night out or a special occasion. The cocktails were just as impressive--innovative and beautifully crafted. Service was attentive, and the vibe is perfect for enjoying a drink with friends while taking in the stunning views. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to experience NYC from above!

Loves: + Amazing views of the city; it's a whole 360 balcony which is dope + Pretty interior space and equally nice building + Nice cocktails (and I love their custom ice cubes) + Excellent service While I did not try it this time, there is a limited food menu including items such as: popcorn, dips, sandwiches, etc. They're #3 on North America's 50 Best Bars so they're worth checking out. Well done, Overstory! :)

Overstory is such an amazing cocktail bar. We went on a Sunday night and had a bit of a wait before we were guided up the elevator and to our seats at the half moon bar. There's not a lot of space inside but the outdoor sky deck wraps around and provides 360 views of the city. Absolutely gorgeous! It was pretty cold/windy the night were there so we stayed inside where it's cozy until it was time for to go. I ordered the Chai spot because it had all the makings of the perfect fall flavored beverage. It was perfection...it was super masculine in presentation it tasted like a warm hug with a little kick. Our bartender was amazing. So welcoming and friendly. I think his name was Charles but I may be wrong ‍.

Another one of my favorite bars in the city, and I would consider myself a regular here. I remember distinctly coming here in the summer of 2022 with my graduate school friends after our class cruise since we wanted to hang out and get drinks together. Little did we know that this place would be one of the vibiest, chicest bears we would ever go to with quite possibly one of the best views in NYC. Of course, since this is a cocktail bar, the drinks really are some of the best I've ever had in the city, maybe even the world. Their signature cocktail, the In The Clouds, is a signature for a reason; with a smooth drinking texture from through milk clarification with fruity and herbal notes paired with a raspberry chocolate garnish, it's truly a drink that I have put on my list of best cocktails. Their menu is ever changing though depending on season, so my current favorites include the Maravilla and Puerto Escondido, both of which blew my mind the last time I went and have become my regular orders (at least, until their menu changes for the new season). Also, something I definitely cannot forget to mention is that their food is delicious, with my favorite bites being their fried chicken and dips that come with m'semen bread. And finally, I cannot sleep on the service and staff that work here, because they are all so so nice and fun to talk to, especially the bartenders. They will give you the best recs based on your taste in alcohol, and they are so friendly, you'd think they were your best friend since childhood. Overall, I love this place. There are truly no downsides in my opinion, and it's a great space to bring anyone out of town for both great drinks and a spectacular view (which you can enjoy with a cocktail in hand).

We put our names down to walk in and were quoted about an hour and a half wait. We ended up waiting around 1:45, which wasn't too bad considering it was a Saturday night. The ambiance of the entire building was spectacular. You're led up to the 63rd floor and then walk the final flight up to Overstory. Once you are in the bar, you're left to find seating on your own, which was not challenging at all. The bar is dim yet lively and is the perfect spot to catch up with friends or for a date. There are little mini disco balls on the ceiling which were super cute! I wasn't drawn to anything in particular on the drink menu. We ended up going with the Maravilla and In The Clouds. The drinks were good and thoughtfully made, but I personally just enjoy drinks with a bit more mouthfeel. Service was wonderful. They gave great suggestions and were very friendly! The view was also incredible. It was chilly so we didn't stay outside for long, but I can imagine how amazing it would be to sit outside on a perfect day. Very glad I tried!!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! Visited it for the first time and the service was phenomenal, and view was so pretty. This bar is located on the 63rd floor and has a secret beautiful entrance. Their drinks were unique and I ordered the Easy Money drink which was fruity and sweet. Beautiful ambiance, perfect for a date or a girlies hangout spot.
